Alan was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and resides there now. He grew up in a military family and moved frequently until his parents divorced when he was 12. He holds a couple degrees from Colorado State University. For 26 years he was a professional brewer; a career cut short by a spinal cord injury that resulted in paralysis of his left leg.
His journey towards wholeness began in 2016 when he chose to make fundamental changes in his life as he approached 300 pounds. In the years since he’s lost and kept off nearly 100 pounds through a low carb diet, intermittent fasting and exercise.
The weight loss led to him believing he needed to address more than his body and began incorporating mind and spirit practices including mindfulness, breath work, tapping and rolfing.
He is a mountain biker, gardener, husband and dog dad to three rescue buddies.
